Basically unless you pay Amazon an additional monthly fee on top of what you are already paying them for their subscription service you’ll have to watch ads as well. The only things free of ads for now are items purchased or rented. This is introduced in the UK on the 5th February.
No doubt this is step one. Step two will be when Prime removes the video subscription from the basic Prime membership and tries to charge a standalone for access.
