Según fuentes confirmadas, el proyecto de artillería de campaña de largo alcance CALA 30 recibiría finalmente el empuje final y sería resultado en serie, junto con un paquete de actualización en su sistema de puntería, y munición guiada de precisión.
El CALA 30 fue concebido con el objetivo de dotar a la artillería con un sistema que fuera capaz de cumplir con los más altos estándares internacionales, compitiendo con cualquiera de los sistemas que se estaban desarrollando o estuviesen en servicio en otros países del mundo.
Cañón CALA 30/2 de 155 mm: El Cañón Argentino de Largo Alcance (CALA) es una pieza de artillería con alcance eficaz de 30 a 40 Km, está dotado de una Unidad de Potencia Auxiliar (APU), un motor diesel de 100 cv que acciona las cuatro ruedas para hacer cambios de posición en forma autónoma. Hasta el momento sólo se fabricaron dos ejemplares, los cuales fueron evaluados operativamente para verificar su desempeño en cada ambiente geográfico del país y con distintos tipos de municiones. Pese a sus excelentes prestaciones, en su momento, por falta de presupuesto no se avanzó en su producción en serie.
El tiempo mostrará la verdad (o fracaso).
