Bell Airacobra, E.J. Gracie
Bell Airacobra I, AH601 was taken on charge by 601 Squadron on 10th October 1941. It was thought apt that the Commanding Officer, Squadron Leader E.J. Gracie, should adopt this machine as his own and accordingly wears the Squadron Leader's rank pennant in Light Blue, Red and Dark Blue on each cockpit door together with the nickname Skylark XIII.

P-61 (42-39754) testing a ramjet engine. -SP
Am kicking myself now...don't remember where I located this diagram, however, it is germane, as the P-61 is testing a rectangular ramjet engine.

Lippisch ramjet.
I can see why you say that....but measurements are in the Imperial system. Both the intake and exhaust are rectangular...just haven't seen this in any of the Kronach-Lorin designs. I guess the 1st image below comes close. The size is wrong and looks like liquid fuel is injected at the entrance of the diffuser. I'll keep looking. In the mean time I located the P-61 ramjet engine...(2nd picture).

OK Justo, I looked through files and found this NACA doc with the rectangular ramjet engine in question. This should be the correct doc.

Imagine having a modern, composite Lippisch DM-1-based, maybe not with a ramjet but with an afterburning F414 maybe, would like to see that?
