Attempts over years incorporate nuclear power or propulsion into luxury yachts.

I've delved into thinking about the idea. Fantasy ultimate, reality however unlikely. And discussed why in.prior comment why likely not applicable

Why? Is the first question.

Built by whom? At what cost? Running cost's? Insurance? What sort of decommissioning would be required? Who could afford this?

I can see a few egotists wanting one or two and possibly even as badges of office for their inflationist tendencies. Might distract from the neu battleship tho'.

Nuclear powered yacht makes little sense, I agree with Foo Fighter comments.
It could also be added the need to hire specialised operators for the crew, the permissions and controls required to verify safe running of a nuclear reactor in private hands (some countries probably wouldn't allow the ship to stay in their waters).
From the other side, is there any advantage from existing power plants?

Would you trust some of these super-yacht owners to follow proper maintenance for the reactor and the proper training of the vessels crew?

I wouldn't. Many of these are people who endorse arsenic, mercury, and lead emissions.

I find the idea of using nuclear power or propulsion for luxury yachts fascinating, especially considering the engineering challenges involved. The Thor and Sif concepts sound like ambitious designs that could offer a very different approach to long-distance cruising. I’d be interested to see how safety, cost, and practicality would be addressed in a real-world version. Veck IO is a completely different topic, but I enjoy learning about unusual engineering and technology concepts.
