I can just imagine it with Sidewinders on the wing tips. :)

Uh, are those end-plates on the stub-wings / sponsons ??

( Okay, it has credible detailing-- Is it for real ??? )

Yes, this is the Bumble Bee -- world's smallest piloted airplane -- on display at the Pima Air Museum in Tucson, AZ. There was a more advanced version, lost to engine failure.

The Bumble Bee got is name because of a rumor that real bumble bees don't have enough wing area to fly. But they've never heard this rumor, so they fly anyway. Same with the airplane.

Plans are from smallflyingartsforum.com

Steps to enlightenment.

1. Someone can actually sit in it. Not bad.
2. Prop's turning. Nice touch.
3. It's... moving?
4. IT IS MOVING! FAST! HOT DAMN!
5. nononono... that can't be right...
6. Ground effect. Right. Gotta be it. Or some sort of anti-gravity device.
7. Blissful acceptance.
