The grey areas-
1-Nuclear hazards.
2-Mechanical failures.
3-Enemy hits the aircraft.
4-Administrative support at the AB.
5-Even if used for civilian transport how many of us would like to have a nuclear reactor flying overhead?
The Russians and Chinese are also toying with the idea.
The only advantage is flying for longer durations without refuelling.
What are the economics?

The economics would not be in mass production but for extended range use in case of nuclear attack. Only a few airframes would need to be built for special operations.
