NASA probably bought the same model as the US Army to simplify maintenance, spares and pilot training.

US Army is operating the UH-72 Lakota which is a version of the EC145, not of the smaller H135 (different engines, main rotor and tail rotor).

This probably shouldn't be in this thread, but I've got to say this. While I was studying these pictures, I got this feeling I had seen this basic shape in a NASA image. After thinking for a bit, it hit me. This old Robert McCall painting. And, what's not to love about the idea of a Huey flying out of the VAB?

What's the betting Telly Savalas could still beat these with a worn-out old Stearman cropduster . ;)

Got to say, the NASA colour scheme looks good on them.
