Hi all.
I was sure I had seen somewhere a 3-view of the MeP1110 ll with the intakes far forward on the 'cheeks' of the nose, but couldn't remember where.
Then I found it, right under my nose, in Justo's excellent Reichdreams Dossier 18.

The first version had an annular intake that encircled the fuselage waist, butterfly tail and 'A' type wings with extended wing roots.
The early Entwurf ll version as illustrated in Dossier 18, looks like it retained the tail and wings from the first version, but I ask was the Type 'A' wing all metal?
(Later Entwurfe ll variants adopted a wooden wing and conventional tail I believe.)

Many thanks
P :)

Many thanks Justo.
I've never seen the extreme pointy nose versions before. Great.
As usual you came up trumps.

I'm really intrigued with this aircraft, I see so many latter day aircraft in it or should I say from it.
Hawker Hunter and SAAB Lansen for two.

I take it the 'A' wing is metal then?

Many thanks
Peter

While the Lansen similarity has always been pronounced, I don't see the Hunter at all, Supermarine Swift perhaps, but not Hunter.

Hi Jon
I don't mean a direct connection, but more a general shape. To my eyes at least and that is at times not to be trusted.
(I should have said 'even the Hunter'. ;))

Cheers
Peter

If Me P1110/II design was really pointy nose with mid-mounted wing, why did so many P1110/II models today have the exact body of the P1110/I model just with the V-tail and annular intake?

Firstly, why would you ever take models to be accurate. Most of them don't even get modern, well known aircraft like the Su-27 correct.

Secondly, the design was highly flux and nowhere close to "finalized'

Thirdly what you are saying doesnt really follow.
