I have it in Martin Aircraft 1909 - 1960.

The "XB-26E" project involved modification to four Marauders, of which three were demonstrated to senior Army officers, one with a dorsal turret behind the cockpit. A B26B-15, 41-31672 resembled an A-20 Havoc with a 37-mm cannon in the nose. Named Pistol Pachin' Mama, it had higher waist guns, four wing guns and the scoop, nacelle and rudder changes.

Hi Loren
Thanks.
We could imagine than the third or the fourth was mine !!!
Now I would try to found the other ??
Thanks again and bye
Paul

The 3rd had 3 1/2 degree increase in positive incidence to make take-offs safer and allow a move level cruising attitude. The 4th included horn-balance rudder, longer nacelle fairings and a new 'sharp-nosed' aileron seals.

All of this is in Martin Aircraft 1909-1960.

Hope that answers your questions on the other 2 as well. Hap Arnold liked the ideas, but lower brass didn't so they were not put into production. But many of the ideas were incorporated into the B-26Fs such as the 3 1/2 degree positive incidence.

Toura, I believe I know what this modification was for. I'd like to get a hi-resolution copy of this photo if I can. Please contact me at ag122651@hotmail.com Thank you. AlanG
