Hi,

lousy pic taken from the MAN archives. It reports to a projected 18 cylinder diesel engine, probably aimed at seaplanes. It was cancelled in 1942, after a 3 cylinder test model was run. 2000 Hp. A turbo supercharger was ment to be used. Any comments would be appreciated.

According to literature ( "Flugmotoren und Strahltriebwerke" and MAN company papers) it`s a W engine.

So this must have been a contemporary (competitor) with the Jumo 223 and 224. My copy of 'Flugmoteren and Straltreibwerk' by Grassman and whatshisiname is in storage at the moment - is there more info in there?

2000Hp, 2,6L cylinder capacity, bore/stroke= 180/135mm. Only a 3 cylinder trial was made.
