Guys

Having read recenty that this was a devleopment of the Mc.202 with a water-cooled upright-vee engine (probably an Asso) anyone care to sepculate what it might have looked like?

Thanks

Andrew

Macchi C.204 was to have a 1000 hp Isotta Fraschini Asso L.121 or L.122.

A highly speculative sideview of the C.204 is attached.

Hi Aophenia

Apologies for delay in replying.
Many thanks for the image.
You say 'highly speculative' what is the source for the image?

Thanks

Andrew

What is your source Andrewjs ?

After much searchwork about the MC.204 I still have no results...

Lark

It was Apophenia who has come up with the image.
It's interesting, but a you can see he says it is highly speculative

Andrew

Indeed Andrewsj, but if it is possible ,I like to
know in which book or magazine you have
read about this Macchi design....

I've attached a profile drawing that I made from materials posted on http://www.avia-it.com/act/biblioteca/libri/libribyavia_indice_m.asp, along with a couple of the drawings that I based mine on.

The AVIA (Associazione di volontariato in Italia per l'Aviazione) site library includes two very informative articles in Italian: "Ancora C.204" ("The C.204 Again") by Marco Gueli and "Macchi C.204: il prototipo che non fu" (Macchi C.204: the prototype that never was") by Giovanni Massimello.

Indeed! And the MC.204 was much better looking than I'd envisioned :)
