Pardon me, this popped up on the Similar Threads sidebar.

The M60E4 was the SEALs favorite version when I was in. My sub got E3s (no picatinny rails but revised barrel/bipod/gas cylinder arrangement), the E4 is basically the same thing but with picatinny rails on the feed cover (not ideal, but it is the only place to put the rails due to how long the feed cover is). The E6 is what the Danish Marines bought, I believe it has a longer barrel than the E3/E4 but is otherwise identical.
