Actually it seems to be a good idea and probably worth at least to be tested. Nevertheless,
the starting picture of the video somewhat suggests water tempertures of 10°C at the surface
and -10° C in deep regions. That may be already enough to stop people from looking at the idea
at all ! :

IIRC, the idea has been tried several times. The big problem was bio-fouling of pipes and heat exchangers...
