Locked Typhoon Thread in the Alternate History Forum?

Apologies if I'm being a bit oblivious but is there any reason the Germany Kills Off Typhoon in the '90s thread in Alternative History and Future Speculation forum has been both locked and pinned? I could understand if it was just the former due to say breaking one of the site rules or just the latter if it was a reference thread such as Fake Aircraft and Aircraft Projects thread, but both together seems somewhat odd. Thanks.

Its in this state because it was initially pinned (presumably as an interesting post) and then went off the rails a bit into political mudslinging and was locked by a moderator.
