Mounting the propeller ABOVE the trailing edge solves two problems: balance and foreign object debris.
Most pushers (e.g. Republic Seabee light amphibian) struggle to balance. Republic solved their problem by adding a propeller shaft extension.
The second problem is foreign object debris (e.g. gravel) thrown up by the nose-wheel. Even sand can soon ruin a propeller.
