Recently, I picked up a number of photographs in an antique shop for a few bucks. One of them was of these Japanese aircraft wrecks. The original photo is small (approx. 3X2) so details aren't the best and it is blurred to begin with. It appears that the camera used had some light leakage towards the top (the tail of the upturned aircraft fades away) or was marred in development.

I think the upturned aircraft is a Ki-45. Annoyingly, the plane in front of it is blocking a portion of the right wing to confirm if another engine was present. Likewise, the wreckage across the left wing could be something in front, but I tend to doubt it.

As for that annoying plane in front of the Ki-45, I'm thinking it is a Ki-55. Difficult to tell if it is a 2 or 3-bladed prop but the cockpit and closeness to the engine plus what appears to be a fixed landing gear suggests it.

Any thoughts? ;D

It does look like the upturned aircraft is a Ki-45 - cockpit arrangement is the same.
