Italian Impetuoso class DDG Conversion Proposal

[Tzoli]

The english wikipedia states that the these two destroyers, Impetuoso and Indomitio were considered in a modernization scheme to became Guided Missile vessels:

There was a proposed modernization program in the late 1960s for the ships to be rearmed with a single lightweight 5"/54 caliber Mark 45 gun forward and RIM-24 Tartar surface-to-air missile launcher in the aft.

Does anybody know more about this project?

I presume it would be similar in capabilities then the following Impavido class which was DDGs to begin with and would provide the basis and operational experience on the new system.
