Israel-bound passenger plane makes emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after reported fight between pilots

A commercial plane travelling from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to Israel has been forced to make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia, after an apparent brawl between its pilots prompted distress signals that briefly raised fears of an attempted hijacking.
A passenger told the Jerusalem Post that one pilot stabbed another and tried to force him out of the cockpit, prompting other Israelis to rush into the cockpit and subdue the attacker as the plane began to plunge.

According German news
Try one of Pilot to Kill the Other, the resulting fight in cockpit let to fast nosedive.
After regaining control, the Crew and Air-Marshall remove the Pilot tie up
and reserve pilot took over

This case reminds me of Federal Express Flight 705 in 1994.
here a Pilot try to murder the Crew with hammer on flight.

Israel's Mossad and Shin Bet are reportedly involved in the investigation, and are looking if there is any link to Iran.
The Omani co-pilot is in the UAE.
Israel's PM Netanyahu said the UAE agreed to let Israel join the investigation.

Saw the interview on Sky News this morning, he was very brave to do what he did and keep the aircraft flying while being attacked.

Here's the 3 News article about this from yesterday:

A hero pilot and a plumber have helped save the lives of 170 passengers on board flydubai Flight 1073.

The pilot was stabbed by his own co-pilot, in an apparent attempt to take control and crash the plane. In a remarkable story of survival, the plumber was able to storm the flight deck, put the assailant in a chokehold and stabilise the plane. Rebecca Wright describes how it all unfolded.

Interestingly enough the pilot received his training here in New Zealand.

I'd really like to know what the co-pilot intended to do if he'd succeeded in gaining control of the aircraft.

I would think that the co-pilot would have crashed the aircraft and killed everyone onboard, just be thankfull that that did not happen.
