Most of the ships in the fleet are obsolete even if they were in brand new condition, even the more modern ships in it are not remotely in condition to be returned to service in a timely of affordable manner.

Beyond a few ticos for spare parts and the handful of LCSes is there any point to keeping these ships around at all? Particularly the actual warships.

Timely and affordable are both qualities you can sacrifice if there's no alternative.

Be interesting to know how long it took to de-mothball everything in WWII.

Sure, but what? 90%+ of them were obsolete 20 years ago, so what would even be the point of them now?
I’m not sure what old combatants are currently mothballed but I imagine many of them are pre-tico aged, would they even have power plants that modern sailors, even the oldest would actually know how to operate?

There's still a few steam turbine techs out there. Wasp-class.
