Ion drive: The first flight

I wonder if he seriously think he is the first man to test the application of active flow ctrl through ionized air? Don't take me wrong, it's a fantastic application of the concept in an academic environment but still...

Hmmm… ionic wind… Verschoyle's device in the mid-1930s ; TTownsend-Brown's devices ; De Seversky's tethered models in the 1960s ; many more along the way including some project by Edward H. Allen before he became the Skunk Work's chief scientist… There was also the beautiful Festo's bionic Airfish in 2010 and so many more projects along the way, including "lifters" from which Jean-Louis Naudin's works (JLN Labs) inspired many… So...
