Hi Guys

Could someone perhaps identify this plane and provide more information and drawings?

Cheers

Except the upper wing is much lower in the photograph than on the side-view... :-\

I don't think it's the same aircraft, those look like wing mounted engines to me. But if I remember it right, Kawasaki built the Salmson 2 under licence, did they play around with the SM-1 as well?

Cheers Bailey.

that japanese text on Picture and the aircraft has Japanese logo on side

but i got no data on japanese biplane bevor 1930 :(

Three obvious differences between the two:
1°) Upper wing is much lower
2°) Front gunner's cabin opening is wider
3°) Bottom of the fuselage is not flat

Perhaps Caudron C.23?
(doesn't have nose leg either)

IMHO this is France-built aircraft - but I'm not sure

Japanese text says "Ko-shiki twin engine bomber plan model".(校式双発爆撃機の計画模型)
Yes the IJA bought five F-50s and sixteen F-60s.
Attached picture is F50 from my No.1 bible. It had no nose gear!
校(Ko) means school,IJA Tokorozawa(所沢) flying school. I think this model shows only planned aircraft which applied some modification to F50 by Japanese. (For example, added nose gear to support heavy nose armament.) ;D

Hi!

Thanks for Japanese translation! My guess, that the model demostrates some ideas, that could incorporate twin-engineed aircraft, based on Farman' design. I noted, that:
1) fuselage cross section in rear part was not a simple rectangle, but polygonal or with curved parts
2) landing gear has been extensively redesigned - nose gear added, main gear moved to the rear
3) vertical fin added at the bottom of fuselage up to tail skid
4) armament arrangemen has been changed

And one more thing - I didn't knew, how precisely model of new aircraft have been match the planned designs. Perhaps, some details isn't too much accurate?

Anyway, F-50 also match my first guess of the model

P.S. Any chance to see F-60' pictures in Japanese service?

Apparently the photo is of a model of a type that was never built. Please see the attached Google translation from the Encyclopedia of Japanese Aircraft volume 7 page 132.
