It comes from a Chinese site which specialises in this style of whatiffery. I've lost the URL, but it also has this well-worn image:

Boy, those Chinese build really expensive airplanes just to use as battering rams...

for those who not understand, that's the Hainan Island incident
on April 1, 2001 a US spyplane "collided" with Chinese J-8 fighter over Yellow Sea
or had Chinese J-8 fighter "collided" with US spyplane?...

Considering that one was a four-turboprop transport aircraft (the same P-3 Orion shown in the artwork just above), and the other was a turbojet supersonic fighter designed for dogfighting, there can really only be one valid interpretation of who hit whom.

When I read April 1, I automatically suspected a fool's day joke ("theoretical and speculative event"), but your link is serious and of course the World does not stop each April 1st... ;)

Oh lord... ::)

As stated, it's from some odd chinese site. I used to use it for Nationstates as my primary tactical transport plane.
