As did the transition from a raw vegetation diet to a meat-containing one... herbivores devote some 25%-50%+ of their blood supply to digestion (the lower while resting and the higher during active digestion) and only 3%-5% to their brains, while humans devote 15%-25%+ of their blood supply to digestion (the lower while resting and the higher during active digestion) and ~18%-25% of their blood supply to their brains (other primates send 8%-10% of their blood to their brains).
