Fact is on Ho X and Ho VIIIb supersonic fighter
all plans & paper were lost in WW2
and how the plane look are pure speculative !
like one based on Lippisch Design P.13

http://www.luft46.com/horten/hox.html

i have suspicion that the Horten brothers had something else in mind.
more like Ho VIIIa glider, why ?

the Horten brothers build always a unpowered glider, before prototype with engine
see Ho IX V-1 glider and Ho IX V-2 prototype
in that case Ho VIIIb would look like Ho XIIIa glider a V wing !

on Ho X "Volksjäger"
i think that is a Ho VIIIb but other engine BMW 003E or Heinkel-Hirth He S 011
the Ho VIIIb was planed with a BMW 003R with a BMW 109-718 rocketengine
that explane why the Horten brothers had so fast new aircraft proposal
after the demand of RLM on September 8, 1944

before I post some picture, i wanna know Wat do you think about this.

In Flugzeug Classic 7/2004 there is an excellent article by Helmuth Walter describing the Ho X (1) (70° delta) and the Ho X (2) Volksjäger (something like 40° swept wing ) . For me ,it seems to be a very seriouly documented source .

Nurflugel.com has some stuff on them. But with the largish amount of designations, I'm not exactly sure what is what.
Do you mean the XIII, not the VIII?

X and XIII have a connection:
http://nurflugel.com/Nurflugel/Horten_Nurflugels/ho_x__xiii_b_/body_ho_x__xiii_b_.html

XIIIa was the glider built for testing
http://nurflugel.com/Nurflugel/Horten_Nurflugels/ho_xiii/body_ho_xiii.html

The H XIII a was built in Hersfeld in 1943. It was a glider with 60 degree sweep back, consisting of a pair of Ho III b wings mounted on a special center section. The wing attachments were offset to give the excessive sweep. The span was consequently reduced to only 12 meters.

and a very important bit:
While the research with the H XIII a was linked to the H X delta project, we chose to avoid having the glider identified as part of the project for security reasons. We therefore choose the H XIII a designation instead of HXa. Later the HX was designated H XIII b.

so here my first picture

the reconstruction is on assumption, that is based Ho XIIIa glider

its the 70° Deltawing reconstruction
and Cockpit filled with WATER !
but no BMW 003 R engine

here another sketch of Horten Aircraft
ats50402_Flying_Wing1.jpg

That "design" is based on a verbal description from an informant.

I think that sketch is base on Ho VIIIb
and that remark rocket are not rocket engine but Air-Air Missiles !
can it be that in the Ho X/VIIIb orginal design, the pilot is on a pone position ?
