Hi, I have this picture of what looks like a Light Sport Aircraft, or at the very least a kitplane (not the T-28 in the background!). It's an attractive little airplane and i wanted to find out more about it. Does anybody have an idea of what type this may be?
It's got a nice, thick cantilever wing, what looks like auxiliary full-span flaps in the Junkers-52 position, and single or tandem seating. The landing gear is obviously of the spring type, but has both a curved spring and straight struts, which i had never seen. Any and all help greatly appreciated!

Backyard Flyer has a unique wing-fold mechanism. Remove 4 eye-bolts and pivot the single-piece, cantilever, plank wing 90 degrees, until it lays parallel to the fuselage (ala. CV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor).
About 20 pre-welded kits were sold before the designer died.
Valley Enginering/Culver Props still supports existing Backyard Flyer airframes.

Awesome! i knew SPF would come through! :D
That is an aptly named aircraft. I can imagine this thing takes off in no space. For context, here's what the folded wing looks like.
