Flight has the CEO as Michael Roth, wiki says the company founder is Michael Roth, various reports say the pilot, Seankese Johnson, was a recent hire who seems to have got his license in 2023.

Okay, bad report as the the corporate position of the Pilot Flying, thank you.

I don't believe that even a high time pilot would have been able to prevent this accident, so the relatively low hours the Pilot Flying had isn't an issue.

Realized that we haven't seen @yasotay in this thread yet. Do you have any opinions on how this happened?
 
TRagic, RIP to victims... eerily I thought I had seen this 206L4 on my travels and yes I did ... happier times, at Heli Expo 2017 in DAllas so here are my photos below

In my personal opinion the fact that the helicopter tour company folded extremely soon after the accident is an implicit admission of guilt. Bummer I can't ever be on a US jury :D.

I do not believe that those speculative aspects invalidate my point of view. If you are *truly, demonstrably, provably* innocent, what damages do you have to fear???
 
You do know the US legal system, right?

You can have zero liability and yet still be drawn though the courts for years.

Thankfully, as a thoroughly grateful Resident (Human!) Alien in California, I can proudly profess that I do *NOT* know the US legal system *At All*, and I have also thankfully never been drawn though the courts for years, so I will have to accept your testimony - one question though, if you don't mind: Is that really based on personal experience or just internet rumors?
 
I stopped some of my US based businesses years ago due to the crazy US legal system and being drawn into ridiculous litigation for the strangest of reasons.

If you're from CA it is very litigious.

Being found liable anyway.

The company that is currently called Patagonia clothing used to make climbing gear. A couple of NYC window washers bought rappelling harnesses, wore them incorrectly, and fell and died. Their survivors sued the maker, despite the warnings on the harnesses that they were not to be used 1) with your weight on the harness for hours at a time, and 2) that incorrect wear WOULD KILL YOU.

A jury found the maker liable for the idiots deaths, and the wrongful death payout basically bankrupted the company.

He was able to restart as a clothing-only maker after that.
 
Reminds me of people drying their dogs on microwave ovens, killing them - and microwave ovens companies being forced to put stickers saying DO NO PUT DOGS INSIDE.
