Similar to the Miles M.68, the Hackney Airlift Associates Inc. proposed the STAR-LIft concept, were pre-loaded
detachable lower fuselage sections should be coupled to the transport aircraft, so forming a fuselage with
conventional cross section. The similarity of the nose section to the Boeing 707 isn't purely accidental, as using
existing components should make this system feasible easily and fast.
