General Electric V/STOL attack aircraft

In Flight of 1 June 1961, page 714, a General Electric V/STOL attack aircraft is shown. It was on display at the Paris Air SHow.
Elsewhere in the same issue it is described as follows:
"General Electric VTOL Illustrated in an accompanying photograph (p. 741), GE have a model on their stand of a V/STOL attack aircraft powered by J85s driving two lift fans mounted in the wings. The company believe such lift fans to be applicable to M2 aircraft, and have conducted extensive studies into such applications (none of which have fans in the thin wings). The original 76in fan has completed much very satisfactory rig-running at Evendale."

Does anybody have any more on this design?

Early 60's Interavia...

An interesting engine configuration on the upper drawing design - something similar to the later Cessna's 'AX' (aka A-10 Thunderbolt) design proposal!! I wonder if this GE layout was adopted to min fuselage size and weight or for survivability?

A G. E. cruise-fan turbine design based on a North American Sabreliner, taken from a 1963 issue of FLYING:

Probably not a Sabreliner. Looking closely at the art (by Keith Ferris, no less!), the fuselage cross-section looks to be circular, and judging by the crew, about equal to the diameter of a Lear 23. The windshield is much larger in proportion to the fuselage than on the Sabreliner (but is inspired by it). Also, the wing trailing edge is kinked, not a Sabreliner feature. I'd guess this to be a piece of Ferris industrial art (before he started painting giant murals in National Museums) illustrating a notional design. If he was supposed to illustrate a modified Sabreliner, he missed the mark, which I think is unlikely, given his well-earned reputation for accuracy in technical illustration.
