Hi
as promised a progress report on a Fw 251 Ent4 I hope to complete for the next batch of profiles.
Early days yet. Camo not finalised. ;)

I ask if there are any alternative emblems for nighfighters other than the red, blue and black lightning eagle shield please?
I've seen yellow versions of the same but what else might be suitable?

Many thanks
Peter :)

Hi Peter.

Not sure if this is of any help but I had this in my collection. I believe was allocated to 2./NJGr 10, who were flying Fw190 A s converted to radar equipped night-fighters on 'defence of the Reich' duties.

Martin.

Thanks Martin.

That will do for an interesting variation.

Cheers

Hi again
If I could ask again please...what would the seating arrangement have been for the crew of three do you think?

Many thanks
P :)

Hello
I think you could try on the profile of several nightfighter aces

I'm surprised with those oblong openings on the sides of fuselage rear part. What is their purpose? Are that air intakes for the rear (3rd) engine?
If so - I have some doubts that such a construction would work...

Following Apterix request... ;)

Thanks, Sr. Miranda. I'd asked about this drawing privately because I didn't want to hijack Flitzer's thread, but the design is relevant...the above drawing is Focke-Wulf's first submission to the nightfighter requirement, but was turned down in January of 1945 because two HeS-011 engines weren't going to carry aloft enough fuel and ammo to make it a viable proposition, or so the RLM thought. So Focke-Wulf started looking for places to put a third engine...

I've started a model of the J.P. 011-045, and am trying to nail the canopy configuration. At first I thought the plane had an unrealistically narrow canopy to accommodate side-by-side crew, but when I laid the drawing over drawings of the British Mosquito and Sea Venom, it turned out to be pretty capacious. This would have been a big fuselage on a big airplane.

Don't worry about any hijack Apteryx.
It's all relevant so feel free. I don't lay any claim to the thread, it's for anyone to join in. The more the merrier.

With regard to the 251, Focke Wulf produced quite a series of designs.
