I am looking at creating a database system for projects, in the form of a "wiki" connected to the forum, with myself and senior members only being able to add content. The idea is to have multiple views, so you can view projects by era, by manufacturer, by country, etc. The idea is to take the excellent info found in the forum into a more structured format.

Do you mean like this V/STOL one:

I agree that more structure, or tagging, to find subjects would help, but I think anything but a simple database (i.e. a straight list) will be a lot of work.

It will be a lot of work. There's a lot of information on this site, the idea is to make it easier to find something and easier to browse if you were looking for say "ATF". Simply typing "ATF" currently will get you a lot of returns but you'd have to agree the result of the search isn't going to have a whole lot of structure ;)
