Forum Anniversary - 20 years old!

28th December 2005 was when I installed the very first version of the forum.

It seems a significant milestone to note.

The first members (in order from bottom) many of which are still with us:

I joined in September 2006, how those 20 years have flown!! And it's still my favourite website, nothing else really comes close and having a functioning and vibrant forum community is something pretty rare these days too.

Here's to the next 20 years!
 
Pretty wild that people have participated in this forum almost as long as I live, lol

But that's just a testimony to the quality and longevity of the forum and the dedication of Paul who runs this place for such a long time successfully.

So I guess next step is 40 years

June 2006 here. Damn, where does the time go?
 
The B-52 will more or less have drawn it's pension by then EmoBirb, who knows what will be flying in it's place in forty years time, something much more advanced that is for sure.

Yesterday, Overscan and and I raised a glass (or two) to the Forum and its members in a boozer called The Hercules.

Had a great catchup.

I think I spoke for many of us in thanking Paul for his cat-herding skills.

Yep, was lovely to meet up again. I'm slightly inclined to the idea of a Secret Projects podcast/chat.

Good to get this reminder ! And many thanks to Deino, who pointed me to this forum … though my first thought was „… what kind of crazy bunch is this ?“
But somehow it was contagious !
 
Many thanks Paul for setting up and maintaining this forum! It has been a privilege to be here from the beginning. Even though I don't post much nowadays I still visit (almost) daily.

P.S. Is the first post supposed to be some sort of "guess the emails" quiz with answers? ;)
 
Thanks Paul for launching and running the ship and thanks to our moderators for their service as well. I’m sure it’s been a slog at times but it is so greatly appreciated by all of us.

12/31/2006 for me. Gained another wife and lost a kidney since then. Every day is a gift.
 
I knew I already signed up in 2006 as well, but on checking only now realized that VE Day for me is also SPF Day :)

Has to be by far my longest-running forum membership at this point.

20 years is a significant sliver of internet time, a true achievement. Time is said to fly but the experience and desire of being aloft also somehow transcends the temporal as the historical depth, discussions and many a passion therein on this forum demonstrate.

The enjoyment I get from and my appreciation of this place whether merely skimming or indeed perusing this forum is poorly reflected in my posting. It's as if I've grown cautious to let my imagination take wing even among so numerous examples of flights of fancy. So, on this occasion on my part merely as a single data point on the matter, let me state my thankfulness and awe clearly and unambiguously for the record.
 
I joined in June 2008, posted my one and only post in September 2011, and started to post regularly from November 2021 ......

I have gained much from the information posted in this forum, both personally and professionally ......

I hoped that whatever I have commented/posted/contributed is at least equal to the amount of information shared here that I had benefitted from ....

Happy 20th Anniversary!!
