Hello,

Nowarra ("Die Deutsche Luftrüstung", volume 2, page 124 ) refers to this twin engined fighter as having 3 MK103 and 2 MG151, a top speed of 695Km/h at 6900m altutude. Anyone knows about any plan/sketch on this project?

Hi guys,

thanks, Justo, once again. I believe that it isn`t a Fw187 variant, or at least a much later one ( not from 1940, as in your post ). For that assumption I only have the fact that the Mk103 was fielded just in mid 1943. What do you guys have to say?

AFAIK, there was a try by FW to propose the Falke again when the Me-210 entered troubles in 1941-42. Maybe this version was the proposed one.

If you look at the second page that was posted from "Focke Wulf Fw187" by Dietmar Hermann and Peter Petrick -Aviatik Verlag 2001, you can clearly see that an official Fw document is dated 6/8/42, backing up Skybolt's comment above. However if you look at the Stuka variant that is dated 28/9/40.

Hi Victor,

Here's an almost direct link to the 1942 document in full, which features a DB 605 engined version as well as a BMW 801D engined version:

Click to close any splashscreen that might appear, then click on "Digitalisat anzeigen", which will load the document.

Interestingly, this document doesn't seem to be a numbered "Baubeschreibung" ('construction description') ... the one for the Fw 187V-4 was Baubeschreibung Nr. 181, the "Stuka" drawing is annotated "Bauschreibung Nr. 235", but the 1942 document not only lacks a number but also doesn't state "Baubeschreibung".

Maybe that is an indication it's only a preliminary project or something, but I don't really know ... that would possibly imply that the 1940 Stuka project was a bit more serious, which I'd find surprising. I've frequently been suprised before, though! :)
