What exactly is this... I have done searches on google and the best I've found basically seems to do something with using the shape of the aft of the plane and the nozzle combined with temperature changes in the exhaust duct to vector the exhaust.

I'm guessing it has to do with which way the exhaust expands. But wouldn't the cooling take energy out of the gas?

Okay, I sort of understand the concept. Even works for control surfaces and flaps apparently
