Hi
rediscovered some missing files.
They are quite old now but thought they might be worth airing.
I'm sure there are many faults with serials, codes and colour schemes etc.

Many thanks
P

These look great. However I do find the accurate depiction of each in the RAF green-grey camouflage pattern as somewhat monotonous. Perhaps a few can be painted in Suez Invasion Stripes, desert camouflage, anti flash white, etc to provide some colouring variety?

Thanks Abraham.
I fee the same way ;).

All are quite old and done in two or three batches over a lengthy period, and, I must say, before I had the luxury of good advise from this site.
I doubt I'll re-work these but will try out a few things on future profiles.
British schemes always seem to give me a problem when it comes to variations.
Your suggestion of invasion stripes is worth investigating for example.

Many thanks again.
P :)

Wonderful plans of these post war potential crafts.. It strikes me that the your first Hawker P1067 images and the last Vickers type 553 look like later Soviet production models? Which I guess, having growing up in the UK through those Cold War 60's 70's decades is of no surprise.

I had a most favoured Uncle, who used to tell us, as young children on holidays, the most oddest tales of these invented naughty characters he names Red, Bluey and Whitey. and what mischieve they would do to each other. Sorry to digress so much. but this Uncle worked as an "M" for the British Foreign Office / Ministry at GCHQ in Cheltenham. Its only now ( when I cannot ever remember his story details ) that he probably invented these characters as a way to unwind from the reality of what he was working with or all the US,GB CCCP juggling he was involved with. He would always later say to me "the things that I know, would make your hair stand on end" of course he never would reveal anything further - and would often add - "they only let me know half of it all, in case I'm captured by the Soviets.. Oddly enough well after his retirement he was offered a free expenses paid trip to visit the USSR anytime, in the early 80's (prior Berlin the wall coming down).

Really sorry to ramble so here, but there is always some back story to our fascination with all this secret project effort

Regards Z

Nicely done Flitzer - amazing to think how different things might have been if a few of these had been selected/built instead of what made it.

I rather like the Westland Design B - know of any line drawings for it that I can get a copy of?

Enjoy the Day! Mark

Superb work, Flitzer, and your generosity is much appreciated, as always.
Just re: colour-schemes - maybe stretching a point but perhaps some designs of 1946/47 vintage could wear colours suitable for 'Tiger Force' escorts / close-air support from (e.g.) the Australian First Tactical Air Force, RCAF, RNZAF, etc.
There are excellent 'Luftwaffe '46' profiles in abundance, why not 'Tiger Force '46' too?
(Btw, if you were to grace us with the tri-jet Miles M.39 in 'Tiger Force' regalia, that would be superb.)
Cheers,
'Wingknut'

Thanks for sharing, I've always enjoyed your work. :)

Great !
Was thinking about the butterfly tailed examples. Would the fin flash appear on the
underside ? Or maybe the upperside camouflage wrapped around the underside of the
tailplane, too ? About other paint schemes, the EE Lightning had some quite colourful
schemes (besides the later dull green one), or what's about another mount for the
Red Arrows ?

Fascinating stuff Z.

Mark.
The only line drawings I've found are the 3 views I used for reference in Tony Butler's lovely book 'British Secret Projects - Jet Fighters since 1950'

Wingnut and Jemiba.
Good ideas all. Next time I do a batch of British post war secret project profiles, I'll definitely try and work something in.

Many thanks
P :D

Thank you.

I must do another set of the British post war projects.

So many projects and not enough time.....
