Actually, they were going to do this - as well as modify it to:

- nuclear-powered missile (hey, Pluto),
- piloted recon plane (-123P aka -141 (first with this designation)),
- M=3-4 ramjet-equipped plane,
- second stage of 'DP' strike missile system, etc.
 
Do you have any higher res versions of those pictures? Up until these the only pictures I've seen of the thing were closeups from the rear which do NOT do it justice.
 
Red Star 20 - Soviet/Russian UAVs has a number of photos in colour and black and white.

Sad to see, that Flateric's YouTube Channel was shut down due to copyright issues. :(

video with him being punched by Buzz was the most popular on my channel, with 1.5 mln+ views and bunch of likes
when I was on vacation, Sibrel affiliated company has sent second and third - deadly - copyright claim to YouTube, and they have killed my channel
