From what I've read & heard, the OV-1 had some nasty single engine ops traits, so the triple fins are probably for engine-out stabilty. Just a guess on my part.

The t-tail arrangement surely puts a different perspective on the Mohawk!
I wonder why Grumman engineers opted for the triple-fin tail arrangement? Stability? Weight?

I was still in and flying UH-1s during that time and knew with a nanosecond that it was a fake. Good job though.
