Sorry, wife had other plans.

It's not in the book I thought unfortunately.
IIRC, it was a study to improve on relatively poor performance of early APG-66. APG-68 was chosen instead.

Seems like a lot of reengineering when APG-68 was right around the cornern.

Perhaps a happy spin-off could have been the fitment of a large long range camera for recon purposes in that bulbous nose.
