Other unbuilt Dash 7 variants were the DHC-7-200 (hot-and-high type with four 1,120 shp PT6A-50/7s) and the Dash 7R Ranger maritime patrol aircraft.

The ice reconnaissance version of the Dash 7 is commonly called the Dash 7R, but the designation on the TC is actually DHC-7-150IR (for Ice Reconnaissance).

Thanks Bill. I've never seen NASP's ice recce aircraft referred to as a Dash 7R. Good to know!
