The following pictures have been reworked / enhanced / recaptioned from an original article published in Popular Mechanics in November 1959.
It presented the various 2000-miles-per-hourpassenger transports of the future as based on the general configuration of the as yet unbuilt North American XB-70.

Wing/body configurations and powerplant arrangements studied (the engineers are not identified, but it could be from the Air Force's ARDC).
