Dornier Kleinstjäger

It was a small Volksjäger fighter powered by one BMW 003 A-0 turbojet.

The fuselage, built in light alloy and steel, housed the prone pilot, the air duct, two Mk 103/30 heavy cannons, one ventral retractable skid, the tail boom and the engine.

The wings built in wood/plywood, housed flaps, ailerons and one fuel tank with 520 liters of J2 kerosene.

Probably a detachable trolley was used during the take-off.

Dornier Kleinstjäger technical data

Wingspan: 6.2 m. Length: 6.2 m. Height: 2.5 m. Wing area: 10 sq. m. Max weight: 2,050 kg. Power plant: one BMW 003 A-0 turbojet rated at 800 kg static thrust. Armament: two fuselage mounted Mk 103/30 heavy cannons.

Hi Justo, thanks for sharing! I never heard of that particular one before. Is this part of a new publication? Best wishes

The next step in Volksjager evolution would probably be "strap the pilot to the RATO unit and give him a hand grenade"
