In " Luftwaffe Victorious " than i can borrowed for 1 hour on archive.org , i have seen possible evolution of Do-19 . Dornier Do-219 seems be a " small B-29 " with Bmw engines of Db-603 engines with nose influenced by Heinkel 116 . It was a plausible evolution of Dornier Do-19 if development of Do-19 was not stopped. In "Luftwaffe Victorious " scenario Dornier Do-219 is put in production in 1941 when Heinkel 177 have troubles with engines ( like in our timelines) .

Hmm. This "Do219" looks almost exactly like a B-29, particularly in the case of the engine nacelles, wings, and tail surfaces. The nacelles do not look anything like BMW 801 or DB603 nacelles that I have seen.

Nor does it seem plausible that a design of this kind could have evolved from the Do19.

Yep, just the usual Wunderwaffe fetish. Do 19 becomes a B-29 and of course is 900% more effective and better in everyway compared to a B-29 because it has "Hergestellt in Deutschland" stamped on it.

Like drawing up a Handley Page Hampden Mk.II looking like an Douglas A-26 Invader...

It's a shame as I hoping it might have been a more interesting AH proposal.

"Luftwaffe Victorious"? Do19 into Do219? Please look at the Do19? How could anyone think that redrawing it to look as a B-29 could produce a B-29? Aircraft design is a matter of engineering not black magic.

Designing and manufacturing machines is a complex process involving many steps. Learning about it is one of this forum purposes. The B29 was an engineering prodigy and going from the early concept to the USAAC was an impressive effort. So impressive in many areas that it was impossible to replicate for the III Reich. The real history is exciting enough to focus basically on it.

We can dream and research about reigns of fantasy in parallel universes under different physical conditions...but this is off topic in secret projects forum.
