To avoid problems with placing AI images into project threads, decided to just post them there, and place links into relevant treads (exept AU threads).

Made several arts & one short video of 1935's proposed modernization of Hellenic Navy battleship "Lemnos" (former BB-24 USS Idaho):

Still have some problem with side turrets - even when I specify "two guns", it still draw single-gun ones. Also, I forgot to specify the direction of travel. Oh well, as soon as my free generations would recharge, I'll try to remedy this.

Decided to AI-visualize one of my rather old (2014 ideas) - French "all-big-gun cruiser" of "Robespierre"-class. Two cruisers, "Robespierre" and "Marat" were build as answer to German "Blucher" and British "Invinsible" (which, as French thought, would be armed with 234-mm guns).

The building of those two cruisers was a result of decision to complete the last three "Danton"-class battleships ("Mirabeau", "Vergniaud" and "Voltaire") as dreadnoughts, replacing their twelve 240-mm/50 Modele 1902 guns with additional eight 305-mm/45 Modele 1906 guns. Since 240-mm guns were already ordered and partially produced, it was thought inefficient to just cancel them. Instead, French Navy persuaded government to fund two new armored cruisers of "all big gun type", comparable to German and British ones.

When French Navy found out that British battlecruisers actually carry 305-mm guns... they just shrugged and decided that 240-mm/50 guns are good enough to counter them (as well as German 280-mm guns).

(Let's assume that the last photo is post-war modernization, when ships were re-boilered and their six funnels were reduced to two).

Quite impressive. Me not knowing much about warships could have taken these for pictures.
Only the sun disk passing through the funnel kinda spoils the realism of the vid.
You use period pictures of existing ships, and tell the IA to modify them as you like and animate it ?

I decided to give visualization to rather obscure ships - Chinese cruisers proposals, designed by Japanese shipyard during the early 1930s:

Project 1006 heavy cruiser from "Harima Shipbuilding"

6000-ton "protected" cruiser from "Uraga Dock Company":

The last one was so good, that I decided to generate her in battle:

It's too ugly. It's a twin main gun but has the shadow of triple ,

AI is extremely stupid in this regard
True, unfortunately. But considering how good it already become - just compare what AI could do a year ago with what it could do now! - I think, in about a year or two it would be able to visualize ships perfectly.

I sincerely hope not, I hope AI is destroyed entirely

Now I decided to try something new: a 1910s Russian project of 24.000-ton armored cruiser, diesel-powered, armed with unifrom battery of twelve 254-mm (10-inch) guns. This project was prepared based on lessons of Russo-Japanese war, as follow-up to armored cruiser "Rurik-II".
Firstly, I ordered AI to clean the original blueprints, which it done perfectly:

Then I tried to visualise the cruiser... and oh, it wasn't easy. For some reason, the AI really, REALLY did not like middle-placed turrets. It required some Paint work to finally got results:

This looks like a Sverige-class coastal defence ship.

A bit; but I worked from the original refit proposal sketch. It's possible, by the way, that Greece admirals looked as Sverige-class as an example of what they wanted from refitted Salamis-class; after all, Swedish coastal battleships were much close to Salamis-class units, than any dreadnoughts.

Nyaaaa!

Far from perfect, of course - the Talos missiles are too big, and one of AN/SPG-49 fire control radars is missing. But I managed to explain to AI what I want to do)

* At first I have significant problems. The AI did not understood much about 1960s missile ships. They aren't as popular in databases as, say, WW2 battleships. So while AI could draw perfect "Iowa"-class, when I asked for "Albany"-class, the result was... abysmal:

* Not willing to surrender, I took the photo of "Albany"-class cruiser, ordered AI to learn that it's "Albany"-class, and draw it. And - viola! - the results were much better:

* Then I made a next step. I took a photo of "Albany"-class, draw a red frame around Talos system, and ordered AI to learn that it's "Talos missile system". After that, I ordered AI to draw me an "Iowa"-class battleship, with "Talos missile system replacing the rear turret".

And it worked!

Just can't persuade the Nano-Banana to put the mid-hull turrets on "Hyuga" correctly. Oh well, she still got her forward 14-inch guns; I presume, it's more than enough for post-war service:

A hypotetical situation of "Ise" and "Hyuga" not being sunk in 1945, and remained in JMSDF as training ships (frankly, their combat value was very dubious already). In 1950s, with the relations between Japan and US improving, JMSDF decided to use those two elderly hulls (recently overhauled, and thus still capable) as fleet missile armed units - hoping that their low speed and limited capability would allow to classify them as "defensive" weapons.

P.S. Doubt that US would export RIM-8 Talos, of course, but I like this system too much NOT to use it)

A "Krol Jan Sobieski" fast battleship of Polish Navy - former Mackensen-class battlecruiser "Graf Sphee", she was captured incomplete by Polish volunteers in Danzig in 1919, and claimed as part of war reparations. With the French help, the ship was completed with eight 340-mm/45 Modele 12 guns as main armament (theoretically, they should fit into German barbettes...) and 138-mm/55 Modele 1910 as secondary.

If I remember correctly 8-12 BB evenly spread between the northern and southern navies, but will check Conway's.

Edit:
Here:

My very old (2017) AU-work:

A "Yulong"-class battlecruiser, build by "Blom und Voss" with collaboration with "Skoda". Basically a "Von der Tann" hull, with three triple turrets from "Tegetgoff"-class (30.5 cm/45 K10 guns) installed.
