One of my absolute favourites is the documentary (do documentaries count?) "In the shadow of the Moon" (2007).

Definitely based on real events.

For the humor category, or "I hadn't known you could translate horse opera to space opera so easily", I nominate "Moon Zero Two'. 'Tain't accurate, but 'tis a fun movie.

By the way, the car that appears briefly is the Ford Probe IV concept car from 1983. Kubrick also used a then-recent concept car for an in-flight movie Floyd watched (and fell asleep to) on his way to the moon - the 1964 GM Runabout.

OK, to add, the spaceship Leonov, in 2010 was designed by Syd Mead. The use of a 'ballute' for aerobraking through Jupiter's atmosphere was a high point of the film. The sketches here show early ideas for a rigid aerobraking shield.

Some interior designs that made their way into the film largely unchanged. It's pretty clear that while the shapes of these spaces might fit into the Leonov in the film, their sizes certainly wouldn't.
