How 's the real accuarcy of 40mm CT cannon?

i mean ,not the data on those pdf, as we all know the 2a42 cannon is famous for its terrible accuracy but the test data of it is only a lit bit difference between the m242 bushmaster

the 40mm CT cannon seems have the same problem but i m not sure my opoion is correct, accroding to the CTA's pdf the accuracy of 40mm CT cannon is :

<0.3 mil both in single shot mod & 60rds/min

But in the teaser of french EBRC jaguar, the performance of 40mm CT is really terrible: 5 shots 3 miss, which is much more awful than the accuracy claimed in the pdf, almost as terrible as 2a42

the link of teaser is here: 法国40毫米埋头弹精度belike

i really wonder why the depression of 40 CT cannon is terrible like that? Its the problem of the jaguar itself or that is the the real accuracy of CT cannon ?

question solved, those French didnt active the stablizer,no wonder the EBRC shaked so bad

we had reports of the ajax needing to fix its motors for their own CTA40 to work properly n cope with its own weight, i do wonder if the french skipped over that or never had these issues....

Might have been related to the specific turret mounting in each case. Ajax turret is obviously going to be different from EBRC Jaguar turret.

2A42 seems to have gained a reputation for terrible accuracy due to videos from the war in Ukraine, but I think it probably isn't as awful as it seems if used correctly. In most videos the crews have the gun set to the high rate of fire (about 550 rounds per minute cyclic rate) which was never really intended to be the default firing mode. Set to the low rate of fire (about 200 rounds per minute cyclic) I'd assume it is much more comparable to other automatic cannons, but on the high ROF it really is a "spray and pray" situation.

A new KE-AB ammo is in the works

The ammunition range of CTA International’s 40CTAS system is set to welcome an eighth variant.

For the Jaguar, Ajax, and RapidFire, a new anti-drone round will be introduced → KE-AB “P33.”

This will result in two versions of the KE-AB :
  • KE-AB “P33” → 330 grams of tungsten pellets → Up to 3,000 m against slow targets → Less expensive → TRL 6 this year / qualification in 2026
  • KE-AB “P66” → 660 grams of tungsten pellets → Up to 4,000 m against fast targets → More expensive → TRL 5 achieved / qualification in 2027
According to CTAI, the objective is “to offer a variation around the pellet concept by working with different sizes and masses to engage different targets.”

Lighter pellets, but in greater numbers, will thus be sufficient to neutralize small drones, which currently represent the bulk of the threat.

Also :
The potential upcoming adoption of a land-based RapidFire by the French Air and Space Force, or even by the Army, could be a game-changer.

Their gunners would indeed be more likely to face micro-drones, which are rarely encountered by sailors already equipped with the naval RapidFire turret.

The P33 would then make perfect sense. Moreover, adopting it would have no impact on 40CTAS systems already in service, as the upgrade would require only a software adaptation.
