For a current project I'm searching for photos of the Morane Saulnier MS.733A in Morrocan and Cambodian
service, preferably in camouflage scheme. There are quite a lot of photos of the restaurated "Cambodian
Gunship" on the net, but I somewhat doubt the authenticity of this colour scheme. Not quite sure, too,
are those two schemes, they may well be the result of some kind of "artistic freedom" during restauration:

In Fayer "Les Prototypes Des Aviation Francais" a Cambodian Alcyon is shown in a colour scheme, that may be dark
green, apart from the natural metal cowling with black antiglare panel. Perhaps anyone can confirm or deny this ?

edit: Here's the mentioned photo from the Fayer book. The undersides seem to have the same colour as the upper sides.

Thanks in advance for any help !

Thank you very much, Paul !

Interesting indeed and reminding me again, that judging colours from b/w-photos
is nearly impossible, especially without knowledge of the type of film used.
Yellow, yes, that would explain the identical colours on both sides and the french
Alcyons in Algeria had yellow colour schemes, too, I think.

Yes Jens

This slightly dent Alcyon quite probably hadn't a silver paint scheme (or better no
paint, but natural metal) overall, but a yellow one, too, I think, the difference between
the lower part of the cowling and the fuselage is hardly visible to my opinion. And on
http://avions-de-la-guerre-d-algerie.over-blog.com/article-morane-saulnier-ms-733-alcyon-50567528-comments.html
this photo of a yellow painted, but clearly armed Alcyon is shown:
What I've found about the colour schemes of French Alcyons so far (that means, photos of
active aircraft, taken during their service times) shows either yellow paint schemes or natural
metal ones, so I think, that other schemes aren't really authentic. Actually, I know, that this could
be the case, too, for the two aircraft shown in links I've posted above, as they clearly already were
on display and so may well have been painted by a kind of an artist ...
The simple reason for my search is, that I'm trying to find interesting AND authentic paint schemes
for a number of colour profiles. Just two would be a little bit boring ... ;)
But thanks for your efforts !
