Do you believe this will be the new generation fighter as a competitor of J-20 for PLA?

Word is that this is self funded by SAC and developed from their failed proposal for J-XX.

It won't be a competitor with J-20 like YF-22 to YF-23 either, but it's supposedly a heavy weight fighter/striker so it might try and compete with J-20 for PLAAF orders, though it seems like they're commited to J-20.

Why are the vertical fins canted at a different angle than the sides of the fuselage?

If it takes PLAAF 8 years to get J-20 from prototype to service, I doubt the PLAN would be much interested in duplicating the effort just so they can get different yet comparable plane into service.
