Some surviving Chinese transports and display models; Y10 airliner built in Shanghai based on the B707, an unknown type eluding identification (any clues? The seaplane in the background is a Boeing & Westerveldt).Harbin Y5 based on the An-2, Xian Y7 and Y7-100, both based on the An-24, indigenous Harbin Y11. These aircraft are on display at the Civil Aviation Museum of China in Beijing, whilst the Y10 model is in the Shanghai Aerospace Enthusiasts Center.

That unknown type is Stinson Detroiter, one (or model of one, can't tell from the picture) of six machines delivered to China in 1929-1930 and from the summer of 1930 serving with the China National Aviation Corporation. (I was lucky and found that the Yu symbol on the side denoted civilian aircraft in 1929-1942)

As I posted in Hongdu Aircraft & Projects, seems Y-6 should be the Chinese version Il-14.
Yes, cancelled, as you know, in favour of licence building the An-24, which became the Y7. The Il-14 saw extensive use in China however. Mao's personal transport is in a museum in Shanghai.

Interestingly, the Shaanxi Y8 licence built An-12BP, seen here, is different from later and larger numbered production variants in that they have the very front of the nose of the Xian H6 nuclear bomber. The glazing is slightly more pointed.
