In "Der Flieger", June 1962, a small drawing is shown, allegedly showing a missile
from Chance Vought for the USN, designated "Porpoise". It looks to be torpedo shaped,
with small wings and a cruciform tail and obviously it is under the sea surface. Just
launched from a submarine ?
No other information apart from this picture in that mag. Anyone who knows more ?

I recall seeing this before, though I can't remember where. I believe this is an underwater glider, like some more recent AUVs.
 
Thank you for this clue ! Then it seems, that already the editors of that magazine got
fooled, as it was clearly shown as a "flying" object.
 
I wouldn't be so sure about that. I suspect that it was an air-launched ASW (with a secondary ASuW capability?) weapon.
