I hate to be a pain, but the UK will give sovereignty of Chagos Islands to Mauritius — NEWS ONLY thread was just locked, and my last post there, which was a link to a Daily Telegraph story on the latest development (confirmation that the 'deal' is costing the United Kingdom at least £35 billion pounds sterling diverted from the defence budget despite previous denials by the Starmer government) was deleted, supposedly on the grounds that it is a 'Political topic, no relevance'. Really? Effectively handing over a vital strategic base, Diego Garcia, to a client state of the People's Republic of China and more than likely in the near future to her military is not an important topic?
