Adding to the thread, the 1952 BIS lander was featured in Kenneth Gatland's "Manned Spacecraft" (officially "The Pocket Encyclopedia of Spaceflight in Colour: Manned Spacecraft"), Blandford Press, 1967.

Does anyone know why the 1938 and 1952 designs are illustrated as green?
